Honeybook Review: The CRM That Does It All

What is Honeybook?

Honeybook is an all-in-one customer relationship management platform, or CRM. It allows business owners and creatives to track leads, collect payments, send contracts, schedule appointments, and more. Honeybook offers users everything they need to grow and scale their businesses by providing a seamless experience for their clients. It's the CRM that does it all, and here's how.

Honeybook Features

One of the biggest benefits of Honeybook is that it's all-in-one. You don't need to work hard to connect a handful of complicated software, because most of what you need to find and nurture leads and sign clients is all within the platform.

Honeybook will allow you to cancel some of your other subscriptions, such as Calendly and Zapier, with a few of their features. They're also always updating features and coming out with new ones to support business owners.

Pipeline

The pipeline offers you a bird's eye view of the customer journey. You'll easily see how many inquiries you have, who is in the follow-up stage, and who has signed and paid. All of these stages are completely customizable to your business, so you can edit them to make sense for you.

The Honeybook pipeline ensures that nothing falls through the cracks. No emails are forgotten, and you can quickly see which projects need your attention.

Lead Forms

Lead forms are a new Honeybook feature, and they're easily one of my favorites. With a lead form, leads can enter their information, answer questions, and even schedule their date and pay all using a public-facing URL. You don't even need to use a website!

Why do I love lead forms? It eliminates friction and unnecessary steps if someone is really ready to book. Lead forms are perfect for strategy sessions or VIP days, because someone can directly pay and schedule a time that works best for both of you. Click here to see an example of a lead form that I use for my 60-minute strategy sessions.

Scheduling

The Honeybook scheduling feature entirely replaces the need for Calendly. It syncs up with Google Calendar, so you can set your availability. You also have the ability to create different session types depending on length and days where you take each type of session. The scheduler syncs with your Zoom as well, so a Zoom link will be automatically generated for you and your client.

Automations and Workflows

Honeybook is all about efficiency, and their automations and workflows are top tier. Depending on what you need them to do, the automations feature can replace Zapier. Here's an example of how I use them.

When someone submits a 60-minute strategy session lead form, I have an automation set up to send them an email with their pre-call questionnaire. This ensures that my client has everything they need immediately, and it gives them plenty of time to fill out the questions prior to the call. You can tailor the automations to whatever you need, including sending one out when people inquire with more information that could be helpful for them until you have time to personally reply.

Templates

The templates feature goes hand-in-hand with automations, and it saves so much time. Honeybook allows you to save email and file templates within the platformโ€”no more digging through your cluttered Google Drive.

I create email templates for inquiry responses, follow-ups, and for specific emails for each project type. These templates allow me to respond to my clients quickly and ensures my client experience remains consistent.

You can also save templates for different invoices and proposals. I have standard templates for both of these that I save within Honeybook and tweak as needed for each of my clients.

Automatic Payments and Tipping

Have you ever had to track down a missing payment? Has a client of yours forgotten to pay you on time? These situations are uncomfortable and difficult to handle. Thankfully, Honeybook has an Autopay feature that you can set to required for recurring payments. Ever since I implemented this feature, I've never had a client pay me late. They love it too, because it's one less thing for them to think about!

Another fun payment feature on the client end is that you can set an optional "tip" field. I usually have this set up with no expectation of a client ever needing to tip me, but sometimes they do and it's a kind little bonus!

Honeybook Pricing

Honeybook has a few different pricing tiers to choose from, depending on your business and your needs. The Essentials plan is the one I recommend because of the Scheduler and Automations features (as well as others), but you can definitely get a lot of bang for your buck on the Starter plan.

If you pay annually, the Starter plan is $16/month and Essentials plan is $32/month. They also have a Premium plan for $66/month (paying annually). However, you can get a 7-day free trial and 25% off your first year by using this link here. I promise once you try Honeybook, you'll fall in love!
